What we collect and why

We store your sign-in account ID and verified email, companion settings, messages and AI replies, preferences, age/terms confirmation, reports you submit, and request/usage records needed to operate the beta and limit abuse. Clerk handles sign-in. Cloudflare hosts the site, API, and application database.

AI processing

When you send a message, the API sends your companion settings, a limited recent conversation, and your approved memories (when enabled) to OpenAI to generate a reply. We request that responses are not stored as reusable provider response objects. Provider operational and abuse-monitoring retention may still apply. Do not put passwords, payment details, or other secrets in chat.

Memory is optional

Memory starts off. Enable it in a companion’s chat page and explicitly add or edit facts. We do not automatically extract memories from messages. The preference applies across your account; each companion has its own facts. Disabling memory stops adding or using facts but does not erase them. Deleting a memory removes it from the active memory store; earlier mentions may remain in chat history until you delete that history.

Retention and deletion

Chats, companions, saved memories, and reports remain in the active database until you delete them or delete your account. We do not currently promise an automatic inactivity purge. Request and usage records are retained to operate the beta and enforce limits. History deletion also removes its stored request replies. Companion deletion removes its chats, memories, and request replies.

Account deletion removes your email and application content from the active database and requests deletion of your Clerk identity. A minimal account-ID and deletion-time tombstone remains to prevent old sessions from recreating your account. Anonymous platform quota totals remain. If identity deletion fails, the app reports this and allows a retry while your session remains valid.

Deletion affects the active application database. Infrastructure recovery copies, technical logs, and provider records may remain under the respective providers’ retention policies. We have not independently verified a guaranteed erasure deadline for those systems.

Your controls and questions

Use Companions to rename or delete companions, the chat page to manage memories or delete history, and Account to sign out or delete your account. Ask privacy questions through Support. Submitted reports are stored for operator review; response times are not guaranteed.

Availability

This beta is for adults 18 and older. SMS, proactive messaging, subscriptions, and image generation are not active. Local demo preferences are stored in your browser only when you choose to save them. Clerk uses cookies and session storage to handle sign-in.
